Product page

The product page is built from blocks inside the Product information section. The order in the editor is the order on the page — drag them.

What ships by default

Title, price, variant picker, selling plans, quantity, volume pricing, buy buttons, description, trust badges, collapsible rows, pickup availability and the gift card recipient form. That last one only renders on products that are actually gift cards, so it costs nothing on the rest of your catalogue.

If a block is missing from your product page, it may simply not be added: the theme registers more blocks than it places. Open Product information → Add block to see the full list, or check Blocks.

Media

Product information → Media controls the gallery.

  • Media position and Media width — which side the gallery sits on, and how much of the row it takes.
  • Thumbnail position — below the stage or beside it.
  • Image ratioAdapt to image keeps each image’s own shape. The fixed ratios (portrait, square, landscape) crop to a consistent grid, which looks tidier when your photography is inconsistent and worse when it is good.
  • Enable image zoom — click to open a lightbox.

Video, embeds and 3D

The gallery handles four media types in the same stage:

Type How to add it Notes
Image Product → Media → Add
Uploaded video Product → Media → Add video Plays inline, muted, with controls
YouTube / Vimeo Product → Media → Add media from URL Loads the embed only when opened, so it costs nothing on page load
3D model Product → Media → Add 3D model .glb or .usdz. Shopify generates the poster image

There is nothing to enable. If you add a video, the gallery shows a video.

3D models also get an augmented reality button on supported phones, which Shopify provides; you do not configure it.

Buy buttons

Product information → Buy buttons.

  • Show dynamic checkout buttons — Shop Pay, PayPal and the rest, under the add-to-cart button. These are configured in Settings → Payments, not here; this setting only decides whether the theme shows them.
  • Show payment installments — Shop Pay Installments, when the product and the customer both qualify. Shopify decides that; a missing widget usually means the product is outside the eligible price range.
  • Show tax and shipping note — the small “Taxes and shipping calculated at checkout” line.

Sticky add to cart

A compact bar that appears once the main add-to-cart button scrolls out of view, on both desktop and mobile. On by default. You choose its position (top or bottom), whether it shows the product image and price, and the button label.

It respects sold-out state and the variant picker, so it never offers a variant the customer cannot buy.

Quantity, minimums and volume pricing

Two separate features that often get confused:

  • Quantity rules (minimum, maximum, increment) come from Shopify’s B2B catalogues. The stepper follows the rule’s lattice: with a minimum of 12 and an increment of 6, pressing + goes 12 → 18 → 24, and typing 15 snaps to a legal value rather than being accepted and rejected at checkout.
  • Volume pricing is the “buy 10, save 10%” table. Add the Volume pricing block; it renders the breaks Shopify has for the current variant and nothing if there are none.

Both need the rules configured in your admin. The theme displays them; it does not define them.

Low stock, dispatch and delivery

Three optional blocks that all describe timing:

  • Low stock — “Only 3 left”, above a threshold you set. Shopify must be tracking inventory for the variant.
  • Dispatch cutoff — “Order within 4h 12m to ship today”, counting down to a cutoff hour.
  • Delivery date — an estimated arrival range, configured store-wide in Theme settings → Delivery estimate so the same promise appears on every product. Set your cutoff hour, processing days and transit range there, list your holidays, and choose whether weekends count.

These are honest only if you keep them accurate. An estimate the customer can disprove costs more trust than showing nothing.

Size chart

The Size chart block opens a chart in a drawer. Upload a default chart image in Theme settings → Product, and override it per product from the block if a product needs its own.

Two sections on the product template:

  • Related products — Shopify’s recommendations. Intent switches between related and complementary; complementary needs products linked in the Search & Discovery app, and shows nothing until they are.
  • Recently viewed — stored in the customer’s own browser, so it is empty on a first visit. That is not a fault.
